Winter is the season of melancholy. Of the bittersweet. Of ache and longing.
I wrote/recorded this song last night - out of nowhere, it has to be said. I was fiddling around on the guitar and the first line/melody just came to me - this is how it always happens for me. Something about this song evokes a sense of winter's melancholic ambiance in me.

Memories of True Love, Now Faded
1.
I drove through the night to hold you one time in the winter
You warmed your hands with mine one time in the winter
You saw your breath and smiled, your cheeks were like roses
One time in the winter
2.
Remember when we were snowed in one time in the winter
We danced to the tunes of Dino one time in the winter
We must have baked 5 dozen gingerbread cookies
One time in the winter
Chorus
One time in the winter watching snow in the streetlights
Our laughter like children we slid down the snowbank
And faded away
One time in the winter
